ROSA MYSTICA HEALTH MISSION 2007

from 12-18 August 2017 in General Santos City

The first medical mission conducted by ACIM-Asia.

DAY 1

Our medical team was able to care for about 33 patients in 6 hours. During that time, Fr. Dolotina was enroling about 100 students in the brown scapular. At the end of the day, Fr. Couture gave a conference on the Holy Shroud of Turin, in front of a life-size replica, to more than 50 volunteer helpers.

DAY 2

The first 4 days of the Medical Mission are held in different locations; the first 3 days in local primary schools, the last 2 in a small village. We are submerged by the crowd, and it is obvious that we cannot cater to them all. A few local doctors have accepted to treat for free the patients that we will refer to them. We would need at least 10 pediatricians, and we have only 2!!

DAY 3

The crowds continued. We have now passed the 1,200th patient in 3 days. The school principal and staff were very friendly and accomodating to all our needs. Rosaries and scapulars are fast running out!

DAY 4

These last two days of the mission took place in a 'subdivision' that is, a part of town under development. Here we pitched our tents in a field. The whole team enjoyed the new lay-out as there was a nice breeze and it was not too hot, although one American helper almost fainted because of the heat. One feature of this day: Filipino soldiers assured the peace of the mission, and two American doctors from a nearby base offered their services. At one moment, one of the Filipino soldiers with his machine gun over his shoulder was seen distributing rosaries to the children! Unfortunately, our photographer missed the shot!
